No talent.

OK so I think I am incompetent at knitting. I am just playing around and trying to do an increase (not involved in any of my current projects, thank goodness) which seems really easy and is a basic skill, thus the reason I am learning it. I am looking at illustrated instructions in Stitch 'n Bitch as well as on lionbrand.com, which has free patterns. Both have the same exact instructions. I am following them, yet not getting the correct result. I have tried about 4 times now. What is wrong with me?!
