In 2005, when Corpse Bride came out, we convinced Maria that she looked exactly like the title character and therefore she must be the Corpse Bride for Halloween.

She pulled off the dead bride look with beauty and grace.

Maria is getting married for real tomorrow! She is the first of my engaged friends to take the plunge. I can't believe that I am going to see her in a wedding gown so soon. I'm sure she will be even lovelier than she was on Halloween.

But I am still sad that my friends are starting to get married, and we are not all back at college, hanging out in our dorm rooms and wearing costumes.

My college friends and I don't see each other much anymore, but we'll always have Halloween!
